Meet Dr. Stryker
Our practice was recently opened by Dr. Cory Stryker. Dr. Stryker’s experience in veterinary medicine began in college when she worked as a technician in both general practice and an emergency animal hospital. This sealed her love of emergency medicine where she felt she could make the most impact for patients and their owners in crisis. Fortunately for patients and their families, her dedication shows no signs of waning.
After graduating with a degree in psychology from San Diego State University, Dr. Stryker earned her DVM from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She then completed a multi-specialty internship with a special focus on emergency medicine at the Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona. Dr. Stryker continued her training while working in a referral practice with several emergencies and critical care specialists before joining Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital. She has a special interest in surgical emergencies, toxicology and pain management.
As a pet nears the end of his or her life, providing the most compassionate and appropriate care is essential to the wellbeing of both the pet and the family. At Advanced Mobile Vet Care, we understand how stressful and heartbreaking this time can be and also how difficult it can be to make decisions on behalf of your pet. Dr. Stryker will be available to provide you with guidance, advice, and her professional opinion every step of the way.
What To Expect From A Home Visit With Your Vet
One of the main goals of mobile medicine is to make the visit as stress-free as possible for owners and their pets. If we have never visited your home before, there are some things you can do to prepare for the visit. We will need an area with good lighting for the examination. Most animals are more comfortable when we come down to their level, so we typically sit on the floor with them. If your cat is one to run and hide when company arrives, please close doors to bedrooms or put your kitty in a room where they can be easily accessible, such as a bathroom. From that point on you can be comforted in knowing we have all the tools and experience necessary to ensure a visit that is as pleasant and stress-free as possible.
